There are many breeders out there you can purchase a puppy from, but as with anything...buyer beware!
Most breeders will sell you a puppy without screening you or the puppies future living situation. The exchange of money for a puppy and you are on your way home with an 8 week old fur ball and as little as maybe a vet shot record if you are lucky. Good, fair and reputable breeders will offer much more and you need to know that! Someone that is breeding for the love of the breed will offer you and your new puppy a lifeline support system for the duration of your puppies life. And along with that you are guaranteed to be getting a healthy puppy that was raised in a clean, loving, comfortable home with much care and research into the blood line and genetics of the parents.
Backyard breeders won't offer a contract or support, they don't look into bloodlines for possible genetic problems and health issues, they don't have a facility that is the proper environment for raising litters and they most certainly are only breeding to try and turn a quick profit. Buying from someone like this, a puppy mill, or pet store can lead to awfully heart wrenching situations that cost you allot of money and possibly the loss of your beloved pet.
Our Puppies are certified healthy Purebred. Unlike most breeders, when you get a FurEver Yorkie you are getting a FULL puppies package. We feel that when you purchase a puppy and spend a good amount of money of them, you should not have to go to the pet store and purchase anything!
A FULL PUPPY PACKAGE includes:
All paper work, vet records, healthy purebred certificate signed by a reputable vet, UTD on all shots, growth chart from birth, crate and bed, puppy sleeping companion, puppy pads, bag of food, collar, photo's each week from day 1 to 8 weeks old and more.
In addition to this, we do require you sign a contract. We will not sell a puppy to anyone and everyone that inquires, we take turning these little lives over to you for proper care and love very seriously. We put allot of money, care and love into our babies and expect you to give them the kind of home we would give them. All of our breeding stock comes from pure lines, we do not line breed, cross breed or inbreed any of our dogs. Our breeding dogs are not crated, our home is their home and we just pay the mortgage! Our puppies are raised in our home, under our feet with the freedom to roam and run like every dog should. We have a designated puppy room which is kept clean and free from germs while the puppies are learning to walk and potty train. Our puppies are socialized, have regular vet visits, get vaccinated and wormed regularly, are taught potty training and crate sleeping beginning at 6 weeks old.
Below you will find a copy of our buyer/breeder contract.
1) The Buyer agrees to provide a life-long commitment, comfortable environment, prompt medical attention, proper grooming and responsible care. This includes keeping this puppy/dog parasite free and up to date with inoculations, proper nutrition, which consists of a good quality professional feed given at regular intervals, and fresh water available at all times. The Buyer promises to provide a safe environment for the dog, and never allow the dog to roam freely without proper fencing or supervision. The Seller strongly recommends that the puppy/dog be microchipped or tattooed in order to facilitate his return if lost or stolen.
2) The Seller guarantees this puppy/dog to be of sound health and temperament at the time of this sale. A health record of all shots and wormings will be provided by the Seller. The Buyer agrees to take this dog to a licensed veterinarian of his choice within 72 hours for a physical examination. Should puppy/dog be determined to be in ill health, the cause of which is clearly attributable to the Seller, the dog may, upon signed written diagnosis from said veterinarian, be returned for refund of the purchase price. The Seller will assume no responsibility if this puppy/dog is given unapproved drugs by a vet and suffers an adverse reaction. No other guarantees are given.
3) The Buyers agree not to use this animal for breeding and agree to have it spayed/neutered at the age recommended by their veterinarian (usually 6 months to 1 year of age).
4) If at any time the Buyer can no longer retain possession of this dog, the Seller is to be notified and given first option of resuming full ownership of dog in order for the Seller to locate this dog a new home. Refunds, if any, will be at the discretion of the Breeder/ Seller. The dog will be returned with all papers and medical records. Should any circumstances arise that affect the quality of life of this dog, the breeder/seller is to be informed so that they may participate in determining the future of the dog. The Breeder/ Seller reserves the right to approve/prohibit any transfer of this animal to a third party. Under no circumstances will this dog be sold, leased, traded or given away to anyone besides the original breeder, or taken to an animal shelter or similar facility.
5) The Buyer agrees to contact the Seller immediately if any questions or concerns arise about the dog, such as housing, diet, health or training. The buyer agrees to keep the seller informed of any treatment as it occurs. This provides the Breeder/Seller with an opportunity to follow up on puppies and gives us important feedback and information on the health or our dogs for future generations.
6) DR. validated certificates, vet records and papers will either be given with the puppy or transferred to the Buyer immediately upon receipt at time of purchase unless they are still being processed. It is understood at the time of sale that this is a pet quality dog and it is the best representative of its breed. It is structurally and temperamentally suited as a companion and/or obedience dog. Training classes are recommended for a happy relationship between the dog and family.
The preceding paragraphs contain conditions established to ensure the well being of the dog, but also to uphold and maintain the reputation of quality that FUREVER YORKIES has established over many years. The Buyer’s agreements will continue for the dog’s life and the Seller will have the right to enforce the agreements. FurEver Yorkies is not responsible for owner preventable issues as stated in the care instructions given with this contract.
